How To Open TS Files
DESCRIPTION: A TS file is an MPEG Transport Stream media file.
A TS file is a compressed multimedia format, an MPEG Transport Stream, for storing and distributing audio, video, data, and text. TS files are used mainly for broadcasting of ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) and DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) systems, and by satellite in particular, because they are designed to handle unreliable transmissions using MPEG-2 compression. Transport stream files are capable of carrying multiple programs at one time, as well as time stamps and metadata specific to the particular broadcast. TS files can be saved as separate files on a DVD, and can be played back on software-based DVD players and some video-editing programs. TS files are generally not designed to be played back in computer operating systems like Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X.
