How To Open RGB Files
DESCRIPTION:
An RGB file extension is an acronym for a Red Green Blue raster image file, used by devices running the Silicon Graphics image-editing application, made by Silicon Graphics Incorporated. Images in RGB format could be uncompressed or compressed using Run Length Encoding (RLE) format, and could be stored as either monochrome or color files. They also are capable of containing optional alpha transparency with either color or monochrome images carrying the RGBA file extension. The file describes the actual description at “byte-level” as a low level specification. RGB files that are uncompressed contain two parts – a header and the image data. For RLE compressed files, a third part, the offset table, is included between the header and image file that describe what the offset should be to the RLE for each line that is scanned. Our developers have not yet tested any applications to open this particular type of file.
