How To Open PSD Files
DESCRIPTION: A PSD file is an image file associated with Adobe Photoshop.
A PSD file extension is an acronym for a Photoshop Designated file, a raster image file developed for use with Adobe Photoshop software. This type of file contains all of the information involved in editing an image, including the file information, any associated keywords, the specific image, masks, adjustment layers, and notations. PSD files are pixel-based, so they take up less memory space in storage than other types of image files, but they are also limited to a combined size of 30,000 pixels maximum. Although used primarily with Photoshop, PSD files are supported as well by Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and Premier Pro, and can also be opened and viewed in Apple’s OS X and Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating systems. Windows Media Player and Media Center can also open the files for viewing.
