How To Open PPT Files
DESCRIPTION: A PPT file is an editable file used to save slide show presentations created with Microsoft PowerPoint software; developed by Microsoft.
A PPT file extension saves elements of a PowerPoint slide show such as movies, images, sound effects, transitions, formatted text, bullet points, headings, etcetera in a single binary file. Unlike a PPS file, the PPT file format is an editable file that can be modified and resaved at any time using PowerPoint software. The PPT file extension, also known as a BIFF (Binary Interchange File Format) is used for saving slide shows created on PowerPoint 1997-2003. If you are using the 2007 version or newer, your presentation will be saved using the Open XML format, called a PPSX file extension, which saves documents as a collection of separate files in a compressed zip file. These files have by and large replaced PPT files and become the new standard for saving work created with Microsoft Office.
