How To Open FFF Files

The FFF format is formally known as the “Lossless Compressed Hasselblad RAW 3FR” file, or "3F" for short. The file format is used for images/photos. It was originally developed by Imacon for use in their high-speed/high-resolution digital imaging products, however Imacon was purchased by camera-maker Hasselblad, who now owns the format. RAW FFF files can only be opened using Hasselblad’s Phocus software. Once rendered, however, FFF files can be read directly by Apple and Adobe programs, or converted to JPEG or TIFF images. 3F files can capture up to 200 megapixels of data, and are usually on the order of 60-80 megabytes in size. There are five other types of files that also carry the FFF extension, so if you’re having problems opening this type of file, it may be because the program and file are not compatible.
