How To Open DOCX Files
DESCRIPTION:
Similar to the .doc extension, DOCX will open documents saved in Microsoft Word. However, it does not work in reverse—meaning that an older version of Word will not open this type of extension. This type of document format was created by Microsoft 2007 and essentially replaced the .doc extension. The “X” addition to the extension represents an open XML format, which means that the file can store more information in a smaller space. Although it remains a text document, graphics and charts can be included which can take up more space. In older versions of Word, graphic, pictures and tables can be added but the file is much larger when saved.
