How To Open DIB Files
DESCRIPTION:
A DIB file extension is an acronym for Device-Independent Bitmap, an uncompressed raster image file format that is device-independent and used by Windows and Mac OS/2 operating systems. Unlike vector graphics images, which consist of lines, cones, and shapes, raster graphics can be read by almost any operating system or software program. This makes them easy to store, edit, and transfer between programs, especially since they are bitmap image files. DIB files contain metadata about the file image, including the resolution, pattern, and colors used on the device which created it, making it independent of the color scheme available in the host program. DIB files can support up to 24-bit images, one byte for each color in an RGB format. DIB files can be opened by almost any image-editing or image-viewing program.Recommended Software
